Thurs 18th October - Tysoe and the Roman road 5.2 miles

Hi All
I hope to see you on this beautiful walk starting at 10 a.m.

This should be an excellent ramble. We climb Windmill hill which actually has a windmill on it. There are views of Compton Wynates mansion house. There is varied scenery and good views throughout.

Directions below were changed due to road works:
Take the Fosse Way B4455, turn left on B4086 for Kineton, take a right in Kineton onto Tysoe Road. Continue, crossing, the A422, taking a left and then a right turn all the way to Tysoe.

Wed 19th Sept - Warmington to Ratley 5 miles

Hi All
I hope to see you on this beautiful walk starting at 10 a.m. on Wed Sept 19th.

The walk includes several climbs. It is hilly, but there are very good views. The walk is mainly field paths and tracks. It could be muddy if wet. There are about seven stiles.

Take the first turning to Warmington from the B4100. ( Signposted to Warmington and Mollington) bear right on entering the village, passing the village green on your left, the Plough Inn is on your right.

Thursday Aug 23rd - Upper Wardington - Thorpe Mandeville

Hi All
Some of us have walked part of this before, but not the section involving Thorpe Mandeville. Please let me know if you are coming.  10.00 a.m. start. Please contact me to share transport. Lunch at athe Griffin Inn, Chipping Warden.

It is beautiful countryside with wide views. It is undulating with one or two steepis h climbs. This walk is part of a battlefield trail. The battle was at Danes Moor near Edgcote Lodge farm. See link Battle of Edgcote.

The easiest way is via the M40 to the Banbury junction 11 and take the A361 towards Daventry for 3  miles. Turn right onto Thorpe road. Park in the village near a crossroads (triangle of roads).

Wed July 4th - Haselor-Kinwarton 4.5 miles

Hi All
We have been waiting for the rain to stop. Now it has! Remember your suncream and water.

This is a varied walk Including a rare 14 century circular dovecote. Dovecotes were constructed of timber, stone or brick and were of various shapes, round, square, hexagonal or octagonal. Thousands were built from the middle ages onwards

Take the A46 Warwick bypass around Stratford and go towards Alcester. A mile or so after passing the Stag at Redhill take a right turning signposted Haselor. In about half a mile, after 2 sharp bends, park in the main street of Haselor just after Manor farm.  Please share cars where possible.

Wed 16th May Yarningale common to Kites Green v3 4 miles

Hi All
I am sure you know Yarningale common (even if you can't spell it!). Beautiful Countryside, peaceful country lanes and an old church. There are one or two steep bits. Hope to see you there.

Take the A4189 Henley road from Warwick. After 5.5 miles, at the crossroads in Claverdon, turn right (signposted Shrewley) into Lye Green Road. At the first crossroads turn left into Common Lane (signposted Yarningale Common). Park at the common.

WDU3A Ramblers group is inviting you to join their Annual day out on Wed 27th June. They are laying on a coach to Matlock Bath. You can either ramble or just enjoy a day out in the summer sunshine. Details will be in the next Info.

Wed 4th April CHange! Change! to Stratford Greenway 5 miles

Hi All
Water everywhere! Especially in Bidford. So instead we will do the Stratford Greenway walk.

This is a pleasant walk partly through town, past the church where Shakespeare is buried, along the greenway and along the river.

Wed March 7th Idlicote - Upper St Dennis (v1) 4 miles

Hi All
This can be a very good, undulating walk in dry weather with long, wide open views. There is only one easy stile. There is an idyllic village pond in Idlicote at the start of the walk. When wet there is a thin layer of mud covering the tracks.
