Wed Nov 15th - Priors Hardwick - Priors Marston v7 4 miles

Hi All
This ramble is in a lovely area of countryside. However, there were fields of longish grass on the recce, making the going harder, so we have shortened the walk a bit. On a previous occasion there was lots of mud, after rain. There are quite a lot of high stiles some quite difficult to get over. There are two lovely stone villages. The oldest houses in the Priors Hardwick are near the village green. The Butcher's Arms is dated 1562.

Please note
We will be stopping for a coffee for about half an hour at the Cafe at Honesberie shooting school about two thirds of the way round.

I have anended this walk slightly. So it is now version 7 (if you wanted a map) and the ViewRanger shortcode is now uthreea0303

Shenington to Epwell ONLY 4 miles

I hope it will make it easier for you to miss traffic problems by starting the ramble at 10.15 a.m.

This is a wonderful ramble in the Cotswolds. There are many stiles. It is undulating. Steep in parts. It is more arduous than most of U3A walks. It is a lollipop shape. So the last two miles is the reverse of the first two miles. Hope to see you there. Allow at least 40 minutes to get there from Warwick.

Ratley - Warmington 4.4 miles completed

This was an excellent walk lead by David. I think it is one of our best ones. This email is mainly to tell you that the maps are now available again online. WDU3A has paid the copyright fee. So if you missed the walk there is a link to our WDU3A map bank and other information at the bottom of this post. We had very good sandwiches at the Rose and Crown. All in all a good morning out!

**************************
The ancient village of Ratley is on the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire border on the northern extremity of the Cotswolds escarpment. It is a beautiful hilly walk with views over Sor brook. The paths and tracks are wide and the views far.  There are a few stiles and short steep climbs.

Parking

Take A4086 from Kineton. After about 4 miles turn left for Ratley, park where you can down the hill. Meet at the Rose and Crown at the very bottom.
