Postcodes
The parking directions always give the grid reference for the parking spot. You use the Grid Reference finder at the link below to find the postcode of the start of the walk to use in your car satnav (or to google on your smartphone). This will be useful to put in Info magazine together with the other directions.
You can enter a location (road, village) or the OS grid reference (as 2 letters followed by 6 digits)
For example:
Ramble: Alcester - Ragley Park 5 miles
Park in the Alcester town centre carpark off Moorfield road
Grid Ref 089575 Explorer 205
Now add 2 letters in front of grid ref to produce, say SP089575 and enter this in the Grid Reference box on the left. Most of our walks will use the 2 letters SP. Now click on Go the the right of the box. A map of the area appears. You can Zoom in or out, change the map to Satellite (map) by using buttons on the top left or to an OS map by scrolling down and selecting the button on the bottom right. Now right click on the exact parking spot. A window is displayed giving the exact OS grid ref in 10 digits, latitude and longitude, postal address and postcode.
