We had a good walk ably led by Peter B (even without his satnav). We managed to scrape the mud off before driving to the excellent Red Lion at Ilmington for lunch. I can vouch for the fish and chips! Rosemary was the recipient of this year's Peter W presentation for all her help over the years. She is a founder member of Ramblers Too.

Cathiron Lane - The Lawfords - completed on Wed June 6th
We had an interesting walk. 5.3 miles give or take 0.2 miles. The crops had grown high since Brian and I recce'd it. One or two paths had not been cleared by the farmer. Towards the end of the walk we came across a group of herons in some tall trees by a beautiful pond map ref SP 46572 77539. I managed to get a photo of the only one to remain still for any length of time. See photos below. I know! The one at the bottom is a swan.

Cathiron Lane - The Lawfords 5.5 miles - Wed June 6th
Brian and I really enjoyed our recce of this walk. The countryside is beautiful. The walk is flat and there are not many stiles, though there is one high one. The walk is a bit longer than usual. It is highly recommended! Parking (see below) is limited especially if there are train spotters around. So please share cars, if possible.
The Queen's Head at Bretford is on the way. The senior citizen's specials are good value 12 a.m. - 2 p.m. Let me know if you want a meal. If there are sufficient number I will book a table otherwise we will take pot luck!

Radsway - Arlescote 5.3m on 2/5/12
Wed 2nd May 2012
We had an excellent walk led by Peter W. It was hilly and muddy in parts and enjoyed by all. The meal at the Rose & Crown, Ratley two thirds of the way round was good as was the beer.We ascended about 760 ft but 4.8 miles out of the 5.3 miles were level. It did not seem like it!
The track of the walk is in blue on the map below. You will see it better if you click on the 'print' link below. You don't actually have to print it
.
They did let me in!
